If you look at what women are saying online, through reviews and comments about the boots they have bought, you will often see that they complain about the boots being too tight around the thigh or calves. I would suspect that many of these are normal women with normal bodies. In other words women that don’t really fall under the category plus size, whatever the term plus size actually means. You might suspect that some brands are better at making comfortable thigh high shoes than others. The problem is that if the boots are too tight around your thighs and give you a pinching feeling, you probably won’t wear them for long.

One of the first things you should look for, specifically, is that the boots are labeled “wide legs”. On a side note, this topic is really important to me, because I think many women don’t wear over-the-knee boots because they are over-conscious about their bodies. I am not going to try to talk you in to wearing boots like this, but you have to remember that beauty has little to do with your body, and a lot to do with your mindset. If you think that you are beautiful, and walk down the street with a pair of thigh highs with confidence, other will think you are beautiful too. It’s the law of attraction in practice, what you think about yourself is what you project out to the world, and ultimately how others will see you too.

Stretch is also a word you should look for. Thigh high boots that have stretch in them, or some kind of leeway through lacing or buckles should also be more comfortable for plus size thighs. Some boots have sown in an area on the side that has stretching capabilities, which means that the rest of the boot can be in leather that doesn’t stretch without the boots being too tight.

These are the boots you only wear for special occasions like parties or a night out on the town. Pleaser thigh highs are often very tight, and has leather that shines, bordering to the style of the mother of all over the knee boots, the sexed up “stripper” thigh highs.

Stripper thigh highs

These were the original thigh length boots, popularized after Irwing Claw used them for the costume of a woman in his erotic photographies in the 1950’s. This category of shoes often have laces, buckles, often made in vinyl or plastic. These are the boots you might not want to wear when visiting your mother in law, but can be great fun for the bedroom.

The fashion industry – only for the skinnies?

As you see, there are many options and alternatives. But like with any other clothes, you probably have to look a little harder to find the plus size variants. Unfortunately, it seems the fashion industry is mainly geared toward supergirl bodies, in other words bodies that are extremely rare if you look at the big picture. But don’t give up, because here is the number one tip you can use when you are out shopping for plus size over the knee boots.

Return policy!

Try to find a shop that lets you return the shoes if you are not satisfied. That way you can order the shoes, walk around with them inside (don’t wear them outdoors or you probably won’t get your money back), get a feel for them, and if they turn uncomfortable you can send them back. Remember, just trying them out in the store for 5 minutes won’t tell you whether they will start to irritate you after a days worth of wear.

Ok, I better tidy up here, other responsibilities await. For starter I better get outside and take a jog so that I can fit in my plus size thigh highs. Yeah, perhaps I should write a post on plus-plus sized boots. LOL! See yah!

I have been on the look out for places to buy cheap thigh high boots, as the average design thigh high boots can be very, very, expensive. We are talking hundreds and even thousands of dollars. But these kinds of boots don’t have to bankrupt you. As you will see there are many places where you can buy discounted thigh highs.

If you are looking for “cheap” boots as in sexed-up, cheap, than this isn’t the post for you. I am talking about affordable boots that literally anyone has the resources to buy. Just wanted to make that clear, as most of the results you get up when searching for cheap thigh high boots are for those “stripper”, plastic-fantastic, spandex styled, boots. Nothing wrong with those, if that’s your thing. Many of them look fantastic anyway if you mix them up with clothes that break away from the stripper style.
